Lab Report: Unicorn [Citrus Bitters]

Purpose: To add fresh, bright, and juicy citrus and tropical aromatics to any drink without needing to muddle or add juices and syrups.

Outline: Usually 1.5mL-3.75mL (2 to 5 droppers) is added to a drink, varying based on other ingredients and total drink size. Each dropper has mL increments listed on it for accuracy and precision with every cocktail.

Experiment: tested with lemonade, iced tea, hot chocolate, espresso, margaritas, Moscow mules, Spanish gin & tonics, gin and vodka sours, lemon drop martinis, chocolate martinis, espresso martinis, vodka martinis, old fashioneds, mojitos, the Penicillin, the Vieux Carre.

Observations: Unicorn adds a refreshing, zesty quality to all drinks listed under experiment, and many more untested.

Data: Unicorn is a 50% abv solution of water, alcohol, Leprechaun’s Gold lemon bitters, Gryphons’ Grace grapefruit bitters, Ogre’s Orchard orange bitters, blood orange peel, vanilla extract, and citric acid. Sample and full size bottles are available. The full size bottles will last 30-60 cocktails.
