Lab Report: Gator’s Lair [Celery Bitters]

Purpose: To add a crisp, fresh, and rich celery aroma and flavor to a drink.

Outline: Usually 1.5mL-3.75mL (2 to 5 droppers) is added to a drink, varying based on other ingredients and total drink size. Each dropper has mL increments listed on it for accuracy and precision with every cocktail.

Experiment: Tested with vodka & tonics, gin & tonics, gin martinis, gin sours, dirty martinis, the Martinez, the Vesper, the Bloody Mary, the michelada, Pimm’s Cups, mint juleps.

Observations: Gator’s Lair adds a flavorful, umani-driven, vegetal complexity to all drinks listed under experiment, and many more untested.

Data: Gator’s Lair is a 50% abv solution of water, alcohol, fresh celery and celery seed, unprocessed sea salt, tamari (water, soya, salt), Riskin’s Dragon [spicy chile bitters] and Riskin’s Gremlin’s Glory [ginger bitters]. Both sample and full size bottles are available. The full size bottles will last 30-60 cocktails.
